The short version.
- We do not create user accounts. There is no database of users.
- The audio URL you paste is forwarded once to a transcription provider. The audio itself never touches our servers.
- The resulting text is returned to your browser and discarded server-side after the response is sent.
- Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider) handles your payment details and your email. We don't store them ourselves.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits — but only after you explicitly click "Allow" on the consent banner. Say "No thanks" and we never load it.
What we actually process
When you use Showkit, the audio URL you submit is sent to Deepgram (transcription provider, US). Deepgram fetches and transcribes the audio. The resulting transcript is sent to Anthropic (language model provider, US) for analysis. The text output from Anthropic is returned to your browser. We keep no copy of the audio URL, the transcript, or the output after your request completes. We do not use your content to train models; Deepgram and Anthropic publish similar guarantees for their API traffic.
Cookies and local storage
Showkit uses two pieces of client-side storage, both strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for:
- showkit_license_key — localStorage entry that remembers your license key so you don't retype it. You can clear it by clearing site data. Strictly necessary.
- showkit_analytics_consent — localStorage entry that records your answer to the Google Analytics consent banner ("granted" or "denied"). Clear it to see the banner again.
- _ga, _ga_VGSMHB0Z4V — Google Analytics cookies. Set ONLY if you click "Allow" on the consent banner. We configure GA with IP anonymization enabled and ad personalization disabled.
No tracking pixels, no Facebook/Meta trackers, no retargeting ad networks. Google Analytics is the only third-party analytics we use, and only with your explicit consent.
Payments
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, Inc. acting as merchant of record. They collect your email, billing details, and applicable tax information. Their privacy notice applies to that data: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy. We receive from them only the license key identifier and anonymous activation counts needed to verify your credits — no billing details.
Your rights (EU/UK)
Because we keep no user records, there is little for us to delete or export. For anything related to your payment (invoices, refund requests, account deletion from the payment provider), contact Lemon Squeezy directly via their support channels. For anything else, email the address below and we'll respond within 30 days.
